Home Studio Attention.
The average music school isn’t that interested in your child’s development.
Their primary objective is profit.
They want to max out how many kids they can see each week and aren’t that invested in whether or not those kids develop. As long as the credit card charge keeps clearing, they’re happy to repeat the same lesson week to week.
This leads to months to years of time and money spent on music lessons, with little to nothing to show for it.
At Anderson Music, we’re intentional.
I work hard to ensure that students take tiny steps towards mastery at each class they attend. All of our programming, from lessons to group classes to additional enrichment, is carefully selected with students’ development in mind. This helps students feel like they’re improving, which makes them more excited to practice and come to lessons.
We have integrity.
I’m not interested in wasting your precious time and hard-earned dollars, and I won’t laugh all the way to the bank while your child struggles to make progress. I do everything in my power to help you be the best Suzuki family you can be, and I’m not afraid to tell families when things aren’t working and we need to try a new approach.
We’re invested.
Suzuki lessons are an investment in your child’s development, and I take that seriously. When a new family enrolls with me, I know we’ll be working together for a long time - at least a year, but often much longer. I take the time to learn about each child’s learning style and interests so I can adjust my teaching to fit their unique personality, because I’m also invested in their progress.
You’re invested in your child’s development.
The teachers you work with should be, too.

Extensive Training
In addition to being fully trained in the Suzuki method and endorsed in Paul Rolland String Pedagogy, I hold an Illinois Professional Educator License. You won’t find that at another music school - trust me, I’ve checked.

Take Chris’s word for it:
You’re probably not a musician. That’s okay.
I know the average Suzuki parent isn’t a musician themselves, let alone a violinist.
I’ve got your back.
When you begin lessons, you’ll get two months of orientation alongside your child’s weekly classes. We’ll go over policies and expectations, tips for success, and delve into what Suzuki is and why we do it.
As your child learns new skills, I’ll show you how to work together at home. You’ll even practice together at your lesson so you feel comfortable doing it on your own.
Plus, you get at least one conference every semester where you’ll receive actionable feedback to continue supporting your child through each unique phase of their development.
It’s a community thing
From group classes to recitals, symphony field trips to post-recital yoga days, our Suzuki families become part of a vibrant, supportive community. Many of our students end up hanging out beyond lesson time, and even schedule practice play dates!
