Meet our beginner specialist,

Abby Simpson

Abigail Simpson is a violinist from Denver, Colorado.

She is a recent graduate of Oberlin Conservatory, where she received an undergraduate degree in violin performance under the tutelage of Francesca dePasquale, and is now pursuing a Master of Music from DePaul University, studying with Janet Sung. Having begun Suzuki violin lessons at the age of two, Abby has fostered a love for music for her entire life. Now a registered Suzuki teacher, she is an excited and enthusiastic proponent of the philosophy that any child can learn to play the violin. Abby firmly believes that music and learning are lifelong pursuits, and seeks to absorb all that she can from mentors, peers, and students alike. She is an advocate for the performance of works by underrepresented composers, works that are not typically considered part of the “canon.” Abby is passionate about using her musical voice to amplify those that have historically been silenced or simply overlooked. Her most recent projects include programming and performing a recital featuring entirely female composers.

Ms. Abby is available on Saturdays and Sundays.
