You can catch Ms. Nissa for an interactive Violin Story Time across the western suburbs!
Story time always features a reading from a book in The Story Orchestra series.
Written by Katy Flint and beautifully illustrated by Jessica Courtney Tickle, the books in this series weave a story around the music of a major symphonic work.
At story time, children and caregivers will enjoy a reading from the series accompanied by LIVE performance of music from the score by Ms. Nissa!
After the story, stay to learn a bit about the violin, and try one out!
Some story time events are free at public libraries, and others are presented in tandem with other fabulous local business for a fee. Check the list below to see when you can join us!
Want to book a story time for your school, library, or birthday party? Contact us! We book a minimum of 3 weeks in advance - but more time is always better to ensure your date is available.
Violin Story Time with Anderson Music Studio
Join Ms. Nissa from Anderson Music for a magical telling of “Sleeping Beauty,” featuring a LIVE violin performance. Attendees will enjoy a mini violin class with a chance to play violin themselves.
Ages 2-6 with a caregiver. Limit 12.

Violin Storytime at Oakbrook Library
Ms. Nissa Anderson, the owner and director of Anderson Music Studio will read a book from The Story Orchestra series and play the music to accompany the book. At the conclusion of the story, children have a chance to learn a little bit about the violin, play a few violin games, and try out a real violin! Ages 3-7 with caregiver.

Join Ms. Nissa for a special presentation of The Story Orchestra: Carnival of the Animals.

SPECIAL EVENT: Pop Ups at Winnie's Playroom
Visit Ms. Nissa at Winnie's Playroom in Brookfield on May 27th from 4-6 PM to try a mini violin lesson! We'll go over the basics of holding the violin correctly and learn how to play our first song, with time for caregivers to ask questions.

SPECIAL EVENT: Pop Up Lessons @ Uni Uni Boba, La Grange
Come for one of the first La Grange Farmer’s Markets of the season, stay for a violin lesson!
Visit Ms. Nissa at Uni Uni Boba in La Grange on June 4th from 12-2 PM to try a mini violin lesson. We'll go over the basics of holding the violin correctly and learn how to play our first song, with time for caregivers to ask questions.

Enjoy an interactive story time and violin demonstration for ages 3-6 with musician Nissa Anderson. Attendees will have the opportunity to play games and try out a real violin.
Pajama Party Story Time with Brookfield Mini Musicians
We are THRILLED to bring back a very special event - a pajama party and storytime for 3 - 7 year olds with the Brookfield Academy for Mini Musicians and Anderson Music Studio!
Join us on Friday, May 1st at 5:00 and/or 6:30 pm for an animal-themed Mini Musicians class. Then, let the sounds of the violin captivate you with our interactive story time.
We will read the Carnival of the Animals while Ms. Nissa brings Camille Saint-Saëns' famous music suite to life. Pajamas and animal costumes are encouraged!
We'll end the party with a violin petting zoo, a goodbye song, and an animal-themed goodie bag to take home.

Thinking about violin lessons? Join me at the treehouse for a no-pressure way to let your kiddo try out the instrument while you get an idea of what lessons look like. There will be time for you to ask any questions you might have about lessons in general as well as our specific programs.
